I had a blast learning Afro-Cuban dance from visiting instructor Royland Lobato from the Bay Area. Richard Marquez and crew were non-stop jamming to the percussion beat.
Mardi Gras was carnival crazy fun with beautiful Samba dancers and percussive drumming Samba music.

Willow Chang was doing double duty singing American Standards on the Lanai Stage (with Tommy Chun) then bellydancing on the lawn. Bellydancer Meissoun from Switzerland also highlighted the lawn with her dance. Starr Kalahiki belted soul classics like 'Been So Long' and 'Anyone Had a Heart'. She was accompanied with Kit Ebersbach on keys, Jon Hawes on bass, and Stew Sherman on drums. The last image is of this couple who were dancing like the other little kids dancing...not caring who or what they looked like...embraced in the moment.
The beautiful and talented Willow Chang bellydances at Fringe Bites.
I love to watch 'ukulele masters Jody Kamisato and Christoffer Salvador of Heart & Soul. They have so much fun performing on stage! Makes you want to start playing the 'ukulele!
